Dhorpatan Hunting Reserve


  • Area of 1325 sq. kms
  • Licensed hunting Reserve
  • Lies at the adjoint of Myagdi district and Baglung district in the scenic setthing of  Dhaulagiri Range in the sky
  • The reserve elevates from 3000 m and reaches as high as to 7000 m.
  • Comprises of forests that include fir, pine, birch, rhododendron, hemlock, oak, juniper and spruce
  • Prime prizes are the blue sheep, Himalayan Tahr, wild boar and pheasants in abundant
  • Endangered species are musk deer, red panda and lophophorus
  • Best time to visit is from September to May
  • Helicopter flight arrangement required for remote blocks
  • North Hunting Block  (Seng Block, Sundaha Block and Dogadi Block)        
  • South Hunting Block (Fagune Block, Gustang Block, Barse Block and Surtibang Block) 
  • Maximum hunting permit one each of Bluesheep, Himalayan Tahr, muntjack and Wildboar
